Only Scrans — Mad Banger Dogs
The Only Scrans concept is a Dean Street original and you won't find it anywhere else in Newcastle. Our Mad Banger Dogs go from the no-nonsense Classic Dog (ketchup, mustard, grilled onions, £8) to the nuclear Hottest Dog — tequila Fck'n Hot sauce, fresh chillies, jalapeños and spicy melted cheese that'll test your limits. The perennial fan favourite is the Philly Cheese Dog: Philly style beef, gooey cheese sauce, grilled onions, diced pickles and mustard. All served with fries. Make em cheesy for just £1 more.
Council Cooks — Newcastle Street Food Icons
Our Council Tapas (£22) started as a joke and became a Newcastle institution — a sharing board loaded with chicken dinos, nuggets, fish fingers, fries, smiley faces and beans. Pure nostalgia on a plate. The Spud Deluxe (£18) is the carb lover's dream: cheese bath, seasoned fries, curly fries, tater tots and smiley faces in one ridiculous dipping platter. For something more contained, the Pizza Style Alphabites (£7.50) are deep fried potato alphabites with marinara, mozzarella, pepperoni and ranch. Wrong in all the right ways. And the Pot Noodle Sarnie — an actual pot noodle toasted inside a sandwich — is one of those things you have to try before you judge.
Risque Roost — Wings & Chicken
Choose your flavour and your format: Wild Wings come bone-in or boneless in portions of 6, 8 or 12. Sauces span from the approachable (Kentucky BBQ, Sweet Chilli, Ranch) to the genuinely dangerous (Fck'n Hot — tequila-based, not a gimmick). The Salt N' Pepper Fries (£9) layer crispy seasoned chicken strips, fried onions, peppers, chillies, sweet chilli sauce and prawn crackers onto a base of fries — a fusion hit that keeps selling out.
